INDUSTRY STATS

Building New Facilities

Building New Facilities

There's nothing so great as a brand-new facility, whether it's a park or a pool, a rec center or a sports arena.

The percentage of respondents to the Industry Report survey who are planning to build new facilities has grown slightly over the past six years.

In 2012, 23.9 percent of respondents said they were planning to build new facilities. In 2018, 28.1 percent said they were planning to build new facilities, down just slightly from 2017, when 28.6 percent had such plans.

Respondents from campgrounds were the most likely to be planning new construction. Nearly half (47.1 percent) of these respondents said they would be building new. They were followed by those from parks (33.9 percent) and colleges and universities (25.9 percent).
